Can you tell us a little bit about yourself?

My name is Jaidis Shaw and I recently released my debut novel, Destiny Awaits! During the day, I work as the Book Tour Coordinator for Nurture Your BOOKS™ and also help promote authors on my own blog Juniper Grove. I’m also a stay-at-home mom to a very energetic four-year-old daughter so it probably goes without saying that I stay busy.

Can you please share the blurb from the book with us?

Here is the synopsis for Destiny Awaits:
Twenty-year-old Alayna Scott receives visions around water, but even her foresight couldn’t prepare her for the tragic accident that claimed the lives of her parents. With everything she loves gone, Alayna packs up and moves to the small town of Juniper Grove in hopes of starting over.

Jayden McKnight can’t explain the attraction that he feels whenever Alayna is near, but he does know that he will do whatever it takes to win her heart. When a vampire selects Alayna as his next victim, Jayden will stop at nothing to ensure her safety – even if that means bringing Alayna into a world that she never knew existed.

Love blossoms, challenges are made and Alayna will find herself fighting not only to survive, but to understand what she has become.

What have you found to be the biggest challenge in self-publishing?

Thankfully I have close author friends who have helped me with the self-publishing journey so there haven’t been many challenges. If I had to pick though, I would say that the biggest challenge in self-publishing is getting all of the details worked out. When you self-publish, you are in charge of things like cover and swag design, editing, formatting and promotion and it can be difficult at times.

What project are you currently working on?

I am currently working on book two in the Juniper Grove Chronicles. Book two (currently untitled) will give readers a closer look at the life of Violet, a shifter with a knack for healing. Readers can first meet Violet in Destiny Awaits where she makes a minor appearance.
I have also begun work on a new paranormal suspense/thriller series that will be for a more mature audience because it will contain a few elements that aren’t suitable for YA. Book one is tentatively titled The Stager and follows the life of an assassin who uses her special ability to excel at her job.

What has been the biggest challenge in your writing/publishing life so far?

I struggle with confidence issues on a daily basis. I’ve always loved to write and wanted to be an author but I lacked the confidence to try. I finally reached a point in my life where I knew I needed to take the plunge if I ever wanted to accomplish my goals and so I did. J

Is there anything else you'd like us to know?
