Review
What an awesome book for kids around 12 and up who want to get into the fantasy paranormal genre.  The Triskaidek was well written, there is mystery, magic and action. I can’t wait for my kids to be old enough to read this book.  Basil Sprig makes the world of the fae fun, interesting and inviting to kids of all ages. I enjoyed reading it and I can’t wait to see what’s in store for Alley next! I think the only thing I was not so sure about was the use of the word thirteenth so much in the beginning of the book.
Alley I loved her, she is sweet, caring, independent and a little stubborn. She enters camp fae not knowing she is a fairy on a mission from a special magical creature. She needs to find a way to save this little blue crab and figure out who she can trust along the way.  Not every fairy uses their magic for good and appearances can be deceiving…

The Pixitres By Basil Sprig (Book 2)

 Book Description

As the fairies of Camp Fae investigate the disappearance of one of Alley Willowwoods’s closest friends, they discover that the entire magical world is on the brink of war. Someone is stirring up the pixie tribes not only ageist one another, but ageist the fairies.

Join Alley as she tries to find her friend and uncover the true villain behind it all in an adventure that takes her across several continents, deep under the sea, and to the other end of our solar system. Alley confronts kidnapping pixie tribes, dragons, and a demonic beast from the underworld and more importantly her own fears as she tries to solve the mystery. Who are these mysterious new strangers that have appeared at Camp Fae and what their intentions are. Who has kidnapped her friend and why? And worst of all, what is she going to do now that she’s inadvertently made an oath of allegiance to one of the pixie queens and quite possibly given her the ultimate magical weapon?

 Review

I really enjoyed book 1 in the Camp fae series but I have to say this one has to be my favorite so far.  There’s something happing right from the very beginning  of the book with Goss calling a meeting and telling Alley her close friend is missing, being kidnapped my pixies and Alley’s not even at camp yet shoot it’s not even spring break its winter still. That’s not all that’s going to happen to Alley.. But I won’t say too much I want you to read it for yourself!

In this journey Alley and her friends pretty much act alone in this book and not tell Goss or the other older Camp fae councilors. I have to say my favorite part was the dragons! I really got into this 2nd book a lot, I loved the twists and turns also Alley and her friends. Again it’s well written the plot is great and perfect for kids 12 and up. I’d defiantly recommend it to my niece to read or even an adult if you like the fantasy Ya genre.
