Synopsis:

Soul Sisters is an urban fantasy novel about African-American twin sisters Ani and Dana who have a rather unique secret: one sister is human while the other is a vampire. While the sisters have lived peacefully with each other for many years one fateful night will change both their lives forever. When a drunken man tries to attack Dana (the human sister) Ani (the vampire sister) protects her sister with all of her ferocious power.

However, when the vampire’s leader Donovan finds out about the public display he calls for the sisters to be assassinated for disobedience. Ani and Dana now are in for the fight of their lives to protect each other as well as the lives of their dedicated friends who have joined them on their mission for survival. If Dana and Ani can make it through this time of uncertainty, Ani can take her new place as vampire queen. Soul Sisters is expected to be a trilogy; The book also features a multicultural cast of characters that brings a new edge of chic to the vampire world.

Intriguing & Unique 

Janiera Eldridge did a wonderful job creating this world of vampires, it is truly unique and a one of a kind read. I loved how vampires are created from part of a human soul and that sister vampire protects her human sister. Janiera’s characters are strong and heartfelt; it’s great to see more books having strong female characters.  Dana and Ani will take you on journey to survive when others have failed to do so. 

The story of Dana and Ani begins when Dana meets a man named Donovan who tells her he can save her husband’s life for a price… a small part of her soul in which her sister is created.  Dana and Ani have a strong bond they love one another. I love to see them together Ani is more carefree and wild where Dana is more laid back and would rather sit home and read Vs. going out to a club.  One night Ani convinces Dana to go out that’s when everything goes wrong and changes their lives forever. When a man tries to hurt Dana, Ani protects her and ends up killing him and another. However, when the vampire’s leader Donovan finds out about the public display, He calls for the sisters to be killed. Dana and Ani must fight for the right to live their lives. With the help up some friends and her sister Dana by her side will Ani be able to take her place as queen or will the assassins catch them first?
