Mark of the Princess (The Kingdom Chronicles, #1) by B.C. morin

Rating:

The feisty and determined faerie Princess Alannah is many things, but she never thought she would be the key to her people’s destruction.

Kidnapped for a power she does not yet possess, Alannah finds herself in the clutches of the most malevolent sorcerer of her time. Maligo. Alannah escapes her prison with help from the handsome and stalwart warrior faerie, Brennus.

Now she must cross mountains and forests fraught with rogue faeries, vicious Fae-hating trolls, dangerous shape-shifters, and more to reach the only ones that can help her control her incoming powers. The Elder Faeries.

With Brennus by her side, Alannah is determined to reach the Elder Faeries and save her people. Maligo is just as determined she never makes it that far.

This book is a really great read. If you love fairy tales you will love this book. The characters were well developed as was the story and plot. The story is about a faery Princess named Alannah, who is feisty and vary stubborn. Unlike other fae she has yet to get her power and is beginning to get vary impenitent waiting for it to arrive. Allanah’s father is very protective of her and wants her to have a guard at all times when out of the walls of the castle. She does not like the idea and sneaks out to the forest on her own. While there she runs (ok I mean collides) right into Kaleb the Prince of Talom while trying to escape from her father’s guards they become fast friends. Once she goes missing, the Kingdom of Meira as well as the surrounding kingdoms panic when they find that the princess has gone missing. She was taken away by the enemy, Maligo. So Alannah’s sister Evyette, Kaleb and Kaleb’s Best friend Tristan go out and search for her.  Maligo soon finds out this Princess is not to be messed with because she can take care of herself, she’s no damsel in distress. When Alannah rescues herself from prison and escapes with the help of Brennus a Warrior Fae. Ah Brennus what can I say, he is strong, determined, handsome and sexy as hell. But he is also arrogant and has a quick wit that makes him utterly irresistible and very charming *Swoon*. Together they must travel though the forest fight their many enemies they encounter along the way, in order to find the Elder Faeries, who will help Alannah learn and control her power.
