Nocturnal (The Noctalis Chronicles #1) by Chelsea M. Cameron
Rating 3.5/5 Stars
Book Description
Seventeen-year-old Ava-Claire Sullivan isn't one for doing
the expected. Especially when she finds out her mother's cancer is terminal.
After a crying session in the local cemetery where she's attacked by one
strange guy and saved by another, she doesn't call the cops. Because those guys
definitely weren't your average hooligans.
And the one who sort-of saved her? Well, he's odd. He
doesn't seem to breathe or smile or have anything better to do than wait in the
cemetery for Ava to come back. Which she does. Call it morbid curiosity. Even
after he warns her that he's dangerous, she can't stop wanting to see him, talk
to him, be with him.
There's something about Peter that provides a much-needed
escape from her mother's diagnosis and her tenuous relationship with her
father. Even her best friends Jamie and Texas don't know what it's like to face
death. But Peter does. He already has. He also made a promise a long time ago
that could destroy both of them.
When everything in your life is falling apart, what are you
willing to give up to hold onto the one thing that could last forever?
Review
This is defiantly a different kind of book, not what I was
expecting I don’t want to give too much away. I will admit I struggled to get
though the beginning of the book it moved a little slow for me until things
started happening though the action was over kind of fast. But I’m excited to
start book 2 after this review.
I loved the unique characters Peter is defiantly your strong
sexy silent type and some of the things he says to Ava are really swoon worthy.
Ava is stubborn, reckless and strong for all she is going through
her mother is dying of cancer, Immortal vampires (Noctails) are trying to strangle
her and her best friends dad is a drunk and he kicking him around. She is warned by Peter not to come back.. so
what does she do she goes back lol poor girl has a death wish.. but there is
just something about Peter and she can’t stay away, but a promise He made long
ago may mean then end for them both if they can’t figure out a way to get out
of it.

Book Description
Ava-Claire Sullivan's
first mistake was becoming vampire Peter Mackintire's personal blood
bank. Her second mistake was falling in love with him.
Now it's Ava's job to make sure he never loves her in return. A pact Peter made nearly a hundred years ago means loving someone will kill him. If she can figure out how to free him from his promise, it might kill her, make her immortal, or lead to the love she wants so badly.
But if she doesn't, at best, her heart will break…and at worst, Peter will die.

Review
First off I’d like to say that the ending of this book killed
me.. That was just cruel, I flipped through the rest of the pages looking for
more soo not fair talk about a cliffhanger..
Things are getting complicated for Ava her mother is getting
sicker she fell in love with an Immortal vampire who cannot love her back and
is his own personal blood bank. What else could go wrong oh yeah Di is coming
for them sooner or later? Ava makes Peter promise to find a way to break his
promise to Di so he can be free to love and be with her.
I love that we get to see more to Tex one of Ava’s best
friends but I wish we would see more of Jamie too. I love the fact that Ava will not go down
without a fight (you go girl) she will do whatever it takes to help Peter.
I can’t wait to read book 3 the ending to this killed me I
need to know what happens next in their story.
